Editorial

Have an article you want to be illustrated? Look no further! Not only will this unique art style draw in readers, but each captivating illustration will further an article’s narrative and provide a more immersive reading experience.

Pripyat

Inspired by the article “Abandoned Pripyat Amusement Park” by Meandering Wild, I created this two page editorial piece in honor of the aging park and to highlight the historical significance laced within Pripyat. When ideating for this spread, I was deliberate with each artistic choice.

Firstly, the composition allows the reader to visually walk along a path in Pripyat, therefore putting them right into the story and illustration. Scattered about the path are plushies from former amusement park games, bumper cars, radiation signs, and other debris. Additionally, I stuck to a very limited color palette, blue and yellow, not only to stay close to the actual colors of the rides in Pripyat, but to represent the Ukrainian flag as well.

What do Capybaras eat?

Concentrating on an educational and informative spread, I chose to illustrate an article titled “What Do Capybaras Eat?”. While working on this project, I kept in mind my target audience, that being kids, and opted for soft, refreshing colors. These illustrations will draw more attention to the article and result in a more enjoyable learning experience for kids!

The New Yorker: Nighttime City King

This project depicts my take on the cover of a New Yorker magazine. Inspired by the zoo in New York as well as the description “the city that never sleeps", and wanted to create a whimsical and eye-catching illustration.
